Vanessa Velilla, DDS
Dr. Vanessa Velilla hails from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She graduated from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) with a degree in Biology and Comparative Literature. She also earned her dental degree (DDS) from U of M. After dental school she received a general practice residency (GPR) certification from Bronx Lebanon Hospital and completed a fellowship in special care dentistry at the Rose F. Kennedy Center. During her residency and fellowship, Dr. Vanessa chose to specialize in pediatric dentistry. She again graduated from U of M; this time with a certificate and Master’s degree in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Velilla is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. The time and dedication required to achieve these titles demonstrate her focus on always providing the absolute best care for pediatric patients and their families.
Dr. Vanessa has practiced pediatric dentistry in Bergen County since 2003. Her experience includes private practice and teaching while mentoring the dental residents at Hackensack University Medical Center where she maintains hospital privileges. Dr. Vanessa looks forward to creating and maintaining happy healthy smiles for all children who seek her services. She also supports all the parents who need help encouraging their child to brush, floss, and not eat too many chewy, sticky candies!
When not treating children, Dr. Vanessa loves to travel. Most recently, she trekked to Machu Pichu and hiked the last 200km of the Camino de Santiago. When not traveling, you can find her trying new restaurants, golfing, playing tennis or training for a race. She has completed 6 marathons.
